Trip to Beaver, Utah

Cade had a state baseball championship tournament in Beaver, Utah. Where is Beaver? I had to ask too. It’s 2 ½ hours south. It’s a gateway to local canyons and mountain ranges. It has a charming main street with stone buildings. I love the history of the area. I loved the baseball games and hanging out with the younger children for 4 days(Mark was coaching Makenna’s 8th grade volleyball team at Dixie College). My favorite field trip was going to Cove Fort, which is located maybe 15min north. This fort was built in 1867, as a safe haven for travelers. A place to stay for a night, eat, refresh the livestock, etc. As we walked through the rooms with a cute elderly couple as tour guides, the kids were interested to see the sort of accommodations a traveler could expect. They were given a toy from that era. It didn’t come close to the Wii, but they treasured that round wooden disk and string for weeks. …oh..and Cade’s team won state.
